Field trip to Orleans Restaurant
in Davis Square
by Alexis Flores

First we wait for the bus. There's lots of
buses and trucks and cars and bikes,
but this is fun, cool, and awesome. This
is the best of my life. There's people
waiting for the bus, there's flags, and
jeeps and school buses.

The restaurant is cool and nice. They
have the best food in the world.  They
have drinks and seafood like crab
cakes. They have pizza and cool seats
and big tables. They have a flat screen
TV.

The review of a Davis Square
Restaurant
by Marisa Rafal

The Happening at The Healey staff took
a trip to Orleans restaurant. We walked a
little ways up to the bus stop, and once
we got to the Davis square stop, we
walked a little farther to the restaurant.
It was drizzling a little bit but nobody
minded because we were all too excited.
(I mean seriously after a long day of
school what is more fun than going to a
restaurant for a free meal with all of your
friends?)
Once we actually got inside the mood
changed completely, the atmosphere in
the restaurant was much calmer than the
group of exuberant kids that were
entering. The lights were dimmed and
there were a lot of flat screen TV’s that
were placed around the restaurant.
There were comfortable chairs and
couches right next to a music board that
might be used by a DJ. There were
festive Christmas decorations around
the restaurant, (it was December after
all). Like the Garland that was strung up,
or the Christmas tree that was in the
corner by the window. As for the food….
It was AWESOME! The French Fries
were perfect, they were wonderfully
crispy and salty on the outside and when
you bit in, the potato-ee flavor came out
in a burst. The pizza had the perfect
cheese, it was warm and stretchy, with a
warm tomato sauce that was on top of
crispy dough that was also hot and fluffy
after you got through the thick crust.
Another thing that was really nice at the
restaurant was the service, everyone
was really friendly and nice. They
remembered almost everyone’s order
even though there were like fifteen
people there. Their patience seemed
endless.
All in all Orleans was really good
restaurant and though it is kid-friendly it
also does different things that are meant
for adults, like Karaoke or Trivia. So I
really hope that you will go and check it
out for yourself.
What I liked about Orleans Restaurant
by Jose Serrano

They had a blue table with two dj turntables in it.  I
liked the soft couches. I liked the food. I ate french
fries and pizza. The service was good. The
waitress was nice.
Orleans
by Sudaba Omar

Orleans was nice. It had a dj turntable and
great service and a relaxing couch area
where you can read or stuff like that. You
can order from the kids’ menu or the adult
menu. And they have Shirley Temples,
which Zack Colleran had. I, Sudaba Omar,
had tender crisp chicken with fries and
Pepsi. It was delicious because it was
crispy. I also liked the TV and the projector
and the disco ball. If you go to Orleans,
hope you order good stuff

Garden Harvest
                                   by Marisa Rafal
On Wednesday the fifteenth of October, the Healey School held a
harvest in the garden. They made scarecrows out of peoples old
clothes, a stir-fry out of garden greens, and apple prints. The weather
was perfect, (bright and sunny but not too hot), and everything was
extremely well organized, thanks to the person in charge of the event,
Jen Capuano. The whole event was a lot of fun for both children and
adults.
There were lots of activities to participate in, and in the end the
scarecrows came out great, (plus, it was a nice way to reuse old
clothes). I didn’t get a chance to try the stir-fry first hand but I am sure it
was delectable, because I saw people making it. All in all, I think it was a
really great event.
As Simon Davenport says, it is really nice when the people of the
Healey come together like this. It is always nice when a lot of people
work together to make something better, or sometimes just to have a
good time. In this case, it was sort of both. So a big thanks to Jen
Capuano for all her hard work to make this wonderful event happen!!!

The Garden Festival
by Eliza Forrest

Outside, in the garden there is a table where there are things from the
garden that people can try, such as: lemon balm tea, and veggies from
the garden. Inside the garden, there are people making scarecrows
and apple prints. Gustav says that the garden festival is sick, awesome
and Laleska says she is happy to be at the festival.
I try some garden stir-fry, rice, spinach, tomatoes, and other veggies.
Guilly says it’s really good and Gustav says, the food here is really
good.
No matter what people say (which is supportive), “most of the things are
grown in the garden, tomato, basil, kale,” says Jen Capuano parent
volunteer.
“How many seeds in a marigold head,” she asks her 4-year-old, 44-
pound, 44-inch-tall son. The garden has been a good idea and a great
thing for the kids in this school and the community, for this school year
and the school years to come.

A sad discovery
by Naomi Rafal

This summer I walked into the Healey
School garden one day hoping to
show off how much our hard work and
effort paid off and was shocked to see
our sign demolished, the bean stalk
flat on the ground, a broken lock and
our garden’s award in the middle of
nowhere. The demolished sign was
actually the sign that clearly stated
‘RESPECT THE GARDEN.’ The
beanstalk being the beanstalk my
class planted in, the one we would
always be saying, “I planted that
one!!!!!”  “I planted that one!!!!!”  We
all were sooo proud of our miraculous
garden… and then it gets destroyed.
